The Leofoto SA-X Series tripods are one of the most compact collapsed setups on the market with a perfectly balanced weight to strength ratio. The "X" version has a newly designed apex with a rosette connector for SA-X rifle heads AND a 3/8" mounting screw to attach any standard 3/8" head. The rosette connector provides an extremely stable connection between the tripod's apex and the base of the head. The angle stop design has also been improved from the standard pull tab to a knurled bar which allows the user to adjust the angles with only one hand as opposed to two. The SA-X Series offers unparalleled versatility, built as a hunter’s companion who also enjoys long days on the range, but most requested by military, law enforcement, competitive shooters or those simply looking for one of the most compact and reliable shooting supports on the market. The SA-X Series tripods offer maximum rigidity, capable of supporting non-traditional shooting positions with a heavy load capacity. The Leofoto MA-40X Lever-Release Rapid Lock Ball Head was designed specifically to be used on an SA-X tripod, but it features both the SA-X rosette connection as well as a standard 3/8" mounting socket. The head has a lever release to lock/unlock the ball and a redesigned lever-release clamp system with an adjustable clamping width.

*The Leofoto SA-X series tripods use a new mounting system that can accept both SA-X specific rosette mounting heads as well as any standard 3/8" compatible head.

*Two versions are available: one with a dual Arca and Picatinny clamp and another with an Arca-only clamp. Please choose the option that best suits your needs.
