Check Out Southern Extreme TV Review Here.
The Guide TU635 LRF 3.0 thermal scope is a versatile 640×512 thermal optic built for hunters who want fast target acquisition, a wider field of view, and reliable real-world performance. Featuring a 35mm objective lens, integrated laser rangefinder, and proven thermal core, the TU635 delivers excellent detection and ease of use in a more forgiving, user-friendly platform.
Where This Scope Fits
The TU635 LRF 3.0 is designed for hunters who prioritize speed and field of view over maximum magnification.
Using the same core thermal system as the TU650 series, the TU635 delivers comparable detection performance—but with a wider view and easier target acquisition.
👉 This makes it one of the best options for:
- Mixed terrain
- Closer-range setups
- Hunters who want a scope that’s easier to run
Key Features
- 640×512 Thermal Sensor (12µm, ~18mK NETD) – Proven detection and sensitivity
- 35mm Objective Lens – Wider field of view for faster target acquisition
- Laser Rangefinder (~1600 yards) – Accurate distance for real hunting situations
- ~3x Base Magnification – Balanced for scanning and shooting
- 1920×1080 AMOLED Display – Clean, usable image
- ~2800 Yard Detection Range – Strong detection capability
- Dual Battery System (Internal + 18650) – Extended runtime
- 30mm Tube Design – Familiar mounting platform
Real-World Performance
In the field, the TU635 stands out for how easy it is to use.
The wider field of view allows you to:
- Pick up animals faster
- Track movement more naturally
- Stay on target with less effort
While it gives up some long-range magnification compared to the TU650, it gains speed and usability—making it a strong choice for many real-world hunting situations.
TU635 LRF 3.0 vs TU650 LRF 3.0
The Guide TU635 LRF 3.0 and TU650 LRF 3.0 share the same core thermal system, but are designed for different hunting styles.
Both scopes use a 640×512 thermal sensor with ~18mK sensitivity and a 1920×1080 display, meaning detection capability and base image quality are nearly identical across both models.
The difference comes down to lens size and magnification—which directly changes how each scope performs in the field.
What Actually Changes
The TU635 uses a 35mm lens with ~3x base magnification, while the TU650 uses a 50mm lens with ~3.7–3.9x base magnification.
👉 Same thermal performance
👉 Completely different feel in use
Real-World Difference
🟢 TU635 LRF 3.0 (35mm)
- Wider field of view
- Easier to scan and locate animals
- Better for closer shots and moving targets
👉 Faster and more forgiving
TU650 LRF 3.0 (50mm)
- Higher magnification
- More detail at distance
- Better for long-range identification
👉 More precise and distance-focused
Which One Should You Choose?
- Choose TU635 → if you want speed, field of view, and ease of use
- Choose TU650 → if you want more reach and long-range identification
👉 You’re not choosing better or worse
👉 You’re choosing wide vs reach
Bottom Line
The TU635 and TU650 run the same thermal engine—but the lens changes everything.
- TU635 = speed, field of view, ease of use
- TU650 = magnification, distance, precision
