The ScopeMate system makes it easy to capture high-quality footage directly through your optic, but a few simple setup tips can dramatically improve image quality and overall performance.
Getting the Sharpest Reticle Focus
1. Point your day scope at the sky or another bright background.
2. Leave the scope at its native magnification while focusing the reticle.
3. For FFP scopes, verify reticle focus again at maximum magnification.
A crisp reticle makes recorded footage look dramatically cleaner and easier to watch. Many focus complaints actually come from improper parallax settings rather than the camera itself.
Recommended Recording Settings
Bright daylight conditions: 4K at 30 FPS
Low-light conditions (around 30 minutes after sunset): 1080P at 30 FPS
Running lower resolution settings in darker conditions can improve brightness and reduce noise, especially during nighttime predator hunting.

Battery Cap Maintenance & Thread Lubrication
One of the easiest ways to protect your ScopeMate and keep it operating smoothly is to lightly lubricate the battery cap threads.
• Apply a very small amount of gun oil or light lubricant to the battery cap threads.
• Spread a thin film evenly around the threads.
• Avoid excessive oil, which can attract dust and debris.
A light coating helps prevent thread wear, reduces binding, protects the O-ring seal, and improves long-term durability. Precision aluminum threads appreciate a tiny bit of lubrication.
*We have some customers comment the focus knob seems very tight. And, yes, they are! This is to prevent movement under recoil. Just give them business we have not broken one yet.
